This answer seems to do be doing quite well on the Quora circuits, so I thought I'd share it to a wider audience...
Somebody wiser and older than me once said that if you checked off 2 out of 3 of the following list:
- Discomfort with the founders
- Disconnect with the culture
- Little to no passion for the work
You should get out of Dodge. I've been through it myself.
These kind of things don't really fix themselves overnight. Founders will always have power over employees, culture is largely set by the founders in early stage ventures, and the work--well, barring the famous tour of pivots, the work will mostly stay the same.
